Maidenhead – Wednesday evening meditation class 7.30 – 8.45pm

These meditation classes are suitable for everyone. They give a practical introduction to meditation and include topics such as the benefits of meditation, mindfulness, good posture, types of meditation, and how to start a daily meditation practice. Advice is also given on how to remain peaceful in daily life by applying the meditation techniques explained in these classes. The classes conclude with light refreshments afterwards. Please feel free to drop in on a class-by-class basis. See below for dates.

No special clothing is required with chairs and cushions provided for your comfort.  Come along to any session, pre-booking is available but not required

This course is based on the text How to Solve our Human Problems, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. We will explore profound and life changing meditations and daily life practices that enable us to cope with, and build inner strength for everyday life. Although this is a seven week course, you do not need to attend every session.

January 10 – February 7

New year, new you

The new year is a symbol of possibility. We wish to change and for our lives to go in a better direction but for that to happen we need to connect with the potential that exists within our minds. Meditation gives us the ability to become the person we wish to be: peaceful, kinder, more dynamic and confident, happier, more loving. Although you will benefit the most by attending all sessions, you are welcome to drop into any session of this course.

Teacher: Gen Nyingpo is an English Buddhist nun with over 20 year experience of teaching meditation.

Parking

West Street lies behind Marks & Spencer, etc. It is a dead-end road that can only be entered from Market Street. There is some free parking in the roadway. Alternatively, there is a surface car park at the end of West Street – about a 100 yards away. This car park is pay and display (£1.50p for the evening)

Shop

We have a bookshop selling meditation books and CDs. You are welcome to make purchases during the course. We accept cash and cheques.

Accessibility

The venue is accessible to wheelchair-users, including toilet. No hearing loop. Parking for Blue Badge holders on West Street, some is wheelchair friendly. Contact in advance for details – limited parking.
