Reducing Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are common features of modern life, often leaving us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and unable to enjoy the present moment. Yet according to Buddha’s teachings, peace and happiness are qualities of mind that can be cultivated regardless of our external circumstances.

In this two-session course, discover practical meditations and timeless wisdom that help reduce stress, calm anxious thoughts, and develop greater inner stability. Through guided meditation and practical advice, learn how to respond to life’s challenges with confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.

Suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike, each class includes guided meditation and practical methods that can be applied immediately in daily life.

Session 1: Reducing Stress – Finding Peace in a Busy World
Discover the inner causes of stress and learn simple yet powerful meditations that help calm the mind, release tension, and create a sense of inner space. Learn how a peaceful mind enables us to respond more effectively to life’s demands.

Session 2: Managing Anxiety – Developing Confidence and Resilience
Explore how anxiety arises and learn practical methods for working with worry, uncertainty, and fearful thoughts. Through meditation and Buddhist wisdom, discover how to develop greater confidence, resilience, and trust in your ability to cope with life’s challenges.

The course is taught by Buddhist nun Gen Nyingpo and is suitable for everyone, whether you are new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice.

Teacher

Gen Kelsang Nyingpo is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre in Reading. She has a wealth of experience having taught meditation and been ordained as a Buddhist nun for 30 years.
